Ellie Goulding (born Elena Jane Goulding on 30 December 1986) is a singer–songwriter and guitarist currently signed to Polydor Records. Signed to Polydor Records in September 2009, her debut single "Under the Sheets" was released on independent label Neon Gold Records. Premiered on BBC Radio 1 on 30 September 2009, it has since gained heavy airplay.

Touring since 2008 she released her debut single Under The Sheets on November 16th 2009. The track was produced by Starsmith, who she has been working with since the very beginning of her career. Her debut album will be released on the 1st of March 2010 and is named Lights.

She recently won the Brits ‘Critics Choice’ Award, an award which has previously been given to acts such as Adele and Florence + The Machine. On Friday, 8th January 2010, she topped the BBC Sound of 2010 music list which is seen as an accurate showcase for rising stars for the coming year. Ellie Goulding is an alternative singer/songwriter from London with an electro-pop style who emerged in 2009 as a blogosphere favorite. Born in Hereford, England, she grew up in Powys, Wales, and later moved to London.
